Some big-name country and Americana artists have just been added to the 2025 Farm Aid concert lineup. Kenny Chesney, Wynonna Judd, and Steve Earle have joined the list of artists who will be performing at the 40th anniversary edition of Farm Aid. The benefit event takes place September 20 in Minneapolis.
Chesney previously played at Farm Aid events in 2005, 2008, 2010, and 2012. This year’s performance is the only upcoming on the country star’s 2025 schedule. He recently wrapped up a Las Vegas residency at the Sphere venue. Judd, meanwhile, will make her Farm Aid debut this year.

As for Earle, he’s been a frequent performer at the event, dating back to the first concert in 1985. This year’s show will mark the ninth Farm Aid appearance for Steve. Incidentally, Earle will officially be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry three days before the concert.
Farm Aid executive Jennifer Fahy issued a statement about the new additions to the Farm Aid lineup.
“We’re excited to have Kenny Chesney back on the Farm Aid stage this year,” she said. “He’s one of many artists who have returned to Farm Aid, generously donating their travel and performances to raise awareness about the family farmers who grow good food for all of us. Kenny’s appearance, along with the addition of music legends Wynonna Judd and Steve Earle, will make this an unforgettable anniversary event.”
More About the 2025 Edition of Farm Aid
As usual, Farm Aid 2025 will feature performances by the organization’s co-founders, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp. Fellow Farm Aid board members Dave Matthews and Margo Price will be performing as well.
As has become tradition, Matthews will perform as a duo with longtime collaborator Tim Reynolds. Young will be joined by his current backing band, The Chrome Hearts. The Farm Aid 40 event is Mellemcamp’s only scheduled upcoming performance this year.
Other previously announced artists on this year’s bill include Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Trampled by Turtles, Waxahatchee, Black Pumas frontman Eric Burton, Jesse Welles, Madeline Edwards, and Wisdom Indian Dancers.

Besides the music performances, the festival will feature concessions offering food with ingredients grown or raised with ecological methods by farmers who are paid fair prices. The event also will feature the “HOMEGROWN Village,” offering activities and exhibits that will help educate attendees about such topics as soil, water, energy, and farming.
