Itโs hard not to tap your foot to most of the songs by Stevie Wonder. But then there are some that are so good, they almost require a dance floor, including these three tunes, which still make me want to dance today.
โSuperstitionโ
There may not be a song that almost requires dancing more than โSuperstitionโ. A No.1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Wonder is the sole writer of the song.

The song says, โVery superstitious / Writing’s on the wall / Very superstitious / Ladder’s ’bout to fall / Thirteen month old baby / Broke the looking glass / Seven years of bad luck / The good things in your past.”
โSuperstitionโ is part of Talking Book. The record also includes โYou Are The Sunshine Of My Lifeโ, another chart-topping single for Wonder.
Wonder later said that he wrote โSuperstitionโ because he is not at all superstitious.
โI think that the reason that I talked about being superstitious is because I really didnโt believe in it,โ he tells NPR. โI didnโt believe in the different things that people say about breaking glasses or the number 13 is bad luck and all those various things. And to those, I said, โWhen you believe in things you donโt understand, then you suffer.โโ
โIsnโt She Lovelyโ
In 1976, Wonder released โIsnโt She Lovelyโ. The song, written by Wonder, is part of his Songs In The Key Of Life album.
Wonder wrote โIsnโt She Lovelyโ as a tribute to his daughter, Aisha. โIsnโt She Lovelyโ says in part, โIsn’t she pretty? / Truly the angel’s best / Boy, I’m so happy / We have been heaven blessed / I can’t believe what God has done / Through us, He’s given life to one / But isn’t she lovely? Made from love.”
โIsnโt She Lovelyโ was not originally intended as a single. The album version of the song is more than six minutes long.
โSigned, Sealed, Delivered (Iโm Yours)โ
Wonder wrote โSigned, Sealed, Delivered (Iโm Yours)โ with Syreeta Wright, whom he was married to from 1970 to 1972, plus his mother, Lula Mae Hardaway, and Lee Garrett.
Out in 1970, the song became a six-week No. 1 hit on the R&B charts,.โSigned, Sealed, Delivered (Iโm Yours)โ says, โHere I am, baby, oh, oh / Signed, sealed, delivered, I’m yours / You got my future in your hands Ah, here I am, baby, ah, ah / Signed, sealed, delivered, I’m yours / You got my future in your hands, hey.”
Peter Frampton includes a version of this song on his 1977Iโm In You album. It became a Top 15 hit for him.
