Vince Gill is best known for his incredible voice, excellent songwriting prowess, and his skill at the guitar. As such, Vince Gill has quite a few underrated guitar solos under his belt that deserve a bit more love for being so incredible. Letโs take a look at just three of our favorites!
1. โLiza Janeโ
This is one of Vince Gillโs most well-known (and impressive) guitar solos. You know youโve made it when Brent Mason is your backup guitarist!

This particular solo is smooth as all heck, and the tone of everything is absolute perfection. Itโs a little bit rock, and little bit country, and whole lot of talent. They really donโt make Nashville artists like they used to, and weโd be bold enough to say this is one of Vince Gillโs best performances ever caught on tape. The recorded version of this song on the 1991 album Pocket Full Of Gold is also stellar.
2. โDonโt Try This At Homeโ
This entry on our list of Vince Gill guitar solos finds Gill and Brent Mason performing โDonโt Try This At Homeโ from the same famed set as โLiza Janeโ. Gillโs solo kicks in at the 2:50 mark, and itโs enough to wake you upโฆ Though we doubt anyone was snoozing in the audience during this stellar performance.
Gill sounds absolutely incredible here, and he makes it look easy. He might be best known for his country stylings, but the blues will always be at the heart of what he does with a guitar. Mason is on another level as well with that smooth, tonally perfect introduction.
3. โSix Pack To Goโ
This is a super underrated entry on our list of Vince Gill guitar solos, as well as an underrated performance in terms of vocals. Even years back, Gill knew how to use his voice and hit octaves that one wouldnโt necessarily expect. This set took place back in 2013 in Nashville with The Time Jumpers.
This is such a classy blues-leaning country song, and Gillโs solo is the kind that will soothe your soul with just one listen. Honestly, the whole of The Time Jumpers were on their A-game that night.
