Pop punk as a genre has been going strong since as far back as the 1970s, though it has definitely evolved significantly in the last couple of decades. Throughout the years, quite a few pop punk one-hit wonders have hit the airwaves as well. Letโs just look at four one-hit wonder tracks that you may have forgotten from the 2000s!
1. โWhatโs The Dillio?โ by Mest
We opted not to feature the music video for this famous pop punk tune because of how raunchy it is, but โWhatโs The Dillio?โ by Mest is definitely still worth mentioning on this list. Itโs a delightfully repetitive, solid, and ska-punk-leaning 2000 tune that was pretty memorable when it was first released. Unfortunately, Mest shone bright and then burnt out pretty quickly after this trackโs success. Theyโre still together today, though.

2. โCheck Yes Julietโ by We The Kings
If you played a lot of Guitar Hero back in the day, you probably know this pop punk track all too well. โCheck Yes Julietโ was pop punk and power pop bop in 2008, and it managed to make it to no. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
We The Kings are still together as of 2024, but they never scored quite as big of an international hit again. โWeโll Be A Dreamโ (featuring Demi Lovato) from 2010 came close, but didnโt quite make it. โCheck Yes Julietโ is also their only single to hit two-times platinum status.
3. โScotty Doesnโt Knowโ by Lustra
There are a few stellar pop punk one-hit wonders on this list, but this particular track managed to make it to the good olโ trashy early 2000s teen comedy film EuroTrip. This song was written for the 2004 film, but it became way bigger than one would expect from a soundtrack song. It peaked at no. 59 on the Pop chart and no. 75 on the Hot 100. Sadly, Lustra never really charted again.
4. โJust The Girlโ by The Click Five
Who doesnโt love a good mix of pop punk and power pop? โJust The Girlโ by The Click Five was the bandโs claim to fame and quickly hit no. 11 on the Hot 100 chart in 2005. Despite the success of this certified gold track, The Click Five failed to chart as high again and they disbanded in 2013.
