The idea that famous rock stars โsell their soulโ for fame has been around for a while, and there might be even the tiniest crumb of truth to those rumors. Or, maybe, quite a few rock stars just tend to find the dark side of spiritualism interesting. Letโs take a look at four rock icons from music historyโs past who were allegedly involved with or interested in the occult! A couple of these rock stars might surprise you.
1. Elvis Presley
According to the famous wife of The King, Priscilla Presley, Elvis once had a bit of an โoccultโ phase back in the day and would read books in that particular genre during the height of his drug abuse.ย

However, it is worth noting that he was quite interested in spirituality in general. He also didnโt stay interested in the occult for long. Priscilla later said in her 1985 memoir Elvis And Me that she and her husband โburnedโ the books he read during his spiritualism phase. With that, Elvisโ odd hobby (or perhaps, existential crisis) came to an end.
2. David Bowie
When it comes to rock icons who were involved in dark magic and the occult, David Bowieโs involvement was more of a fear. Itโs not exactly surprising that Bowie was fascinated by the occult. He was fascinated by UFOs and aliens, which was evident in much of his music. Allegedly, according to his ex-wife Angie, Bowie was very afraid of black magic and witches.ย
3. Jimmy Page
Any fan of Led Zeppelin wonโt find this particular entry surprising. The famed guitarist of the hard rock band was quite obsessed with the works of one Aleister Crowley, who is considered one of the most famous writers on the occult of the 20th century. Page allegedly owned quite a few of Crowleyโs writings. He even purchased a Scottish house that the occultist used to live in.
4. Dave Mustaine
Dave Mustaine has never hid the fact that he was pretty heavily involved in black magic, particularly as a teenager. In interviews, the Megadeth guitarist would recall casting hexes and spells on other people. Later, he said that he believed much of the bad parts of his life could be attributed to his use of dark magic.
He eventually stopped practicing black magic and eventually became a Christian. Mustaine even stopped playing โThe Conjuringโ for a while due to the fact that the song itself contains instructions for casting hexes.
