5 Baby-Making Songs by The Beatles

The Beatles produced jams that appealed to virtually everybody. They were masters of pop, after all. That being said, The Beatles also knew how to pen a few baby-making songs here and there. If you need a few vintage songs to add to your very specific playlist, read on!

1. โ€œWhy Donโ€™t We Do It In The Roadโ€

This White Album song by Paul McCartney had pretty comical origins. Allegedly, the song was written after McCartney saw two monkeys getting it on in the middle of a road somewhere in India during a trip. McCartney said witnessing the very quick act reminded him how โ€œsimple the act of procreation isโ€, which led to this song about gettinโ€™ it on in a road.

2. โ€œSomethingโ€

This Abbey Road track is one of George Harrisonโ€™s most well-loved works. The โ€œSomethingโ€ music video also featured each of the then-partners of The Beatles and has since become one of their most successful and genuine love songs. The melody on โ€œSomethingโ€ is particularly gorgeous.

3. โ€œI Want You (Sheโ€™s So Heavy)โ€

The Beatles didnโ€™t exactly release a ton of baby-making songs, but one canโ€™t deny that this is one of the heaviest of the bunch. โ€œI Want You (Sheโ€™s So Heavy)โ€ is John Lennonโ€™s declaration of love and obsession with Yoko Ono, and the energy in the vocals and instrumentation is palpable. โ€œI Want You (Sheโ€™s So Heavy)โ€ appears on Abbey Road.

4. โ€œDonโ€™t Let Me Downโ€

Another track by Lennon, โ€œDonโ€™t Let Me Downโ€ wasnโ€™t included in Let It Be, but weโ€™re glad it at least got released in some capacity. Itโ€™s a desperate, sensual love song complete with blues guitar riffs. Itโ€™s not the Fab Fourโ€™s heaviest song, but it is quite sexy.

5. โ€œGirlโ€

This Rubber Soul classic was (yet again) written by John Lennon about a woman, though he told Rolling Stone that the girl never actually existed.

โ€œShe was a dream, you know, but the words are all right, you know,โ€ Lennon said. โ€œItโ€™s about โ€˜Was she taught when she was young that pain would lead to pleasure/Did she understand it?โ€™, all that. Theyโ€™re sort of philosophy quotes. It wasnโ€™t just a song, and it was about, you know, that girl, which happened to turn out to be Yoko in the end.โ€

โ€œGirlโ€ is a song about desire that would suit any baby-making playlist, for sure.
