5 Underrated Stevie Nicks Songs That Deserve More Love

Stevie Nicks is such a legend today, itโ€™s hard to imagine the powerhouse singer/songwriter behind โ€œRhiannonโ€ and โ€œSilver Springsโ€ ever having underrated songs in her discography. However, she does have quite a few deep cuts from her long and eclectic career that could use some love. Letโ€™s take a look!

1. โ€œRooms On Fireโ€

This stunning song from The Other Side Of The Mirror is a fantastic example of Stevie Nicksโ€™ vibe throughout the 1980s. โ€œRooms On Fireโ€ is an arresting and addicting love song. If youโ€™ve ever caught feelings for someone but felt intense anxiety over how fickle they could actually be, youโ€™ll relate to this Stevie Nicks classic a lot.

2. โ€œBlue Denimโ€

A fan favorite among underrated Stevie Nicks songs out there, โ€œBlue Denimโ€ comes from Nicksโ€™ 1994 album Street Angel. Remember when Nicks hit the stage with her former bandmates (and former lover, Lindsey Buckingham) for Bill Clintonโ€™s inauguration in 1993? โ€œBlue Denimโ€ sounds like a diary entry Nicks had written about the experience. The title of the song is a reference to the color of Buckinghamโ€™s eyes.

3. โ€œSaraโ€

Tusk is still known as one of the most expensive records ever produced, and itโ€™s a pretty underrated release from Fleetwood Mac in the grand scheme of things. There are a ton of gems on that 1979 album, one of which being Nicksโ€™ โ€œSaraโ€. This song was written about a fling Nicks had with Mick Fleetwood and her unexpected pregnancy with Don Henley of The Eagles. Itโ€™s an intimate, vulnerable, and arresting song that you wonโ€™t forget easily.

4. โ€œAfter The Glitter Fadesโ€

โ€œAfter The Glitter Fadesโ€ comes from Nicksโ€™ debut solo record from 1981, Bella Donna. The song is a fascinating look into how Nicks reckoned with her own status as a famous person, and the fact that her 15 minutes of fame could have been up at any moment, leaving her dejected on the street. Honestly, Nicksโ€™ more vulnerable songs are some of her absolute best.

5. โ€œHas Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?โ€

This is one of the most underrated Stevie Nicks songs ever, from one of Nicksโ€™ most underrated albums, the 1985 record Rock A Little. At the time of writing โ€œHas Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?โ€, Nicks had a rocky relationship with Eaglesโ€™ Joe Walsh. However, tragedy and inspiration struck Nicks when Walsh took her to visit a memorial for his deceased three-year-old daughter, Emma, who was killed in a car accident about a decade prior.

โ€œHas Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?โ€ is a tender tribute to Emma, and itโ€™s so emotional that itโ€™s hard to believe Nicks wrote the song about someone she never even met.
