Following in the footsteps of her grandmother, Loretta Lynn, Emmy Russell sought a career in the music industry. And like many before her, she found herself competing on American Idol. Quickly becoming a favorite, the singer landed in the Top 5 before her journey on the show ended. Not letting the loss extinguish her dream of country music stardom, the singer continued to perform. But outside her music career, Russell and her husband, Tyler Ward, welcomed their first child. While thrilled about their growing family, the singer recently asked fans for prayers after their daughter suffered seizures.
Always keeping fans updated about her life, Russell and Ward celebrated the birth of their daughter, Taylor Raydiant. Seeming to embrace the world of parenthood, the couple shared a video on Monday, explaining how Taylor needed prayers. Ward said, “These last few days have been interesting for us. We’ve noticed that little Taylor has had some seizures and we took her to the hospital today and we know that in these moments, we really do believe in the power of prayer.”

With Taylor surrounded by medical professionals, Emmy added how she was undergoing several tests to find the cause of the seizures. “She’s doing her EE … what’s it called? EEG. So just pray for like normal brain waves. She’s been having these spasms, kind of like she’s falling almost … they were just really concerned about it and wanted to do some … checking how our brain is and everything. So pray for answers, because I really do want answers.”
Emmy Russell Offers Update
Outside of the video update, Russell posted another update of Taylor, writing, “Alright y’all – thank you for your prayers for Taylor. She did the spasm thing this morning. She has the EEG, so we will see what her results are and next steps. The neurologist should be coming in very soon. Please continue to pray.”
While Russell leaned on her husband, her fans, and her faith, she added the Bible verse Psalm 34:5, reading, “Those who look to him are radiant with joy; their faces will never be ashamed.”
Feeling the power of community, Russell, Ward, and Taylor received a mountain of love and support from fans all over the world. Only spending a short time on Earth, Taylor was already feeling the power of love.
