Reba McEntire is gearing up for a new sitcom, Happy’s Place. The show sees the main character (McEntire) take over her father’s bar in the wake of his death. After learning that he had another family, she joins forces with her newfound relatives.
Every great sitcom has to have an equally great theme song. McEntire turned to theme song veteran Carole King to help her pen the titular song for Happy’s Place. “I emailed her and told her the situation,” McEntire recently said. “She said that she’d love to help out. I hadn’t seen her in maybe four years, but we’re friends.”

Everyone has their happy place. For many, it’s their favorite late night spot where they can connect with friends and share a drink. That’s the idea behind this theme song. McEntire sets a scene of a bar that will surely life your spirits.
That place is–you guessed it–Happy’s Place. McEntire calls visitors of the bar to rest their hearts and feel safe. It’s a welcoming idea–something that all major sitcoms must boast.

Rest your heart and be a part
You’ll always feel so safe
Put a smile on someone else’s face

Oh right here at Happy’s Place
McEntire and King hit the nail on the head with this theme song. It’s blithe and easy to remember. We can only imagine that the sitcom will have the same sentiments. While the song is relatively upbeat, it does make mention of the loss at the heart of this show. Raise a glass to the ones that you’ve missed the most, she sings.
