While considered a newcomer in the music industry, Benson Boone is wasting little time when it comes to leaving his mark. Although the singer once competed on American Idol, before withdrawing, Boone gained popularity when he released songs like “In The Stars” and “Beautiful Things.” With “Beautiful Things” taking over the airwaves, the singer received the chance to perform the song at the Grammy Awards. And when it came to his performance, it seemed that his outfit was a little too tight, causing Boone to apologize to fans after he needed to adjust the costume.
As the Grammy Awards featured several hit performances throughout the night, many fans discussed Boone taking the stage for “Beautiful Things.” Before revealing his outfit, the singer received a little help from Heidi Klum and Nikki Glaser when they ripped his tuxedo off. Wearing a blue jumpsuit underneath, the star quickly made his way to the stage and even performed a flip to kickstart the song.

Although fans loved the performance, many called out the singer when he needed to adjust his outfit. With many wondering why he didn’t wait until after his performance, Boone decided to jump on Instagram to clear the air. Posting a shirtless picture of himself, he wrote, “Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight. That thing was extremely restricting in certain areas.”

Other than his wardrobe, fans praised his performance on stage and how he commanded the audience. One person insisted, “I see his management is trying to make him the next Freddie Mercury and it works because he’s got every factor to be that.” Another comment included, “Honestly, Benson Boone, did the most AMAZING, SPECTACULAR, and HOTTEST performance alive! Great job Benson Boone! Keep up at the good work!”
While the performance gained Boone a great deal of attention, the singer was proud of what he produced with “Beautiful Things.” When looking at the process of bringing the song to life, the hitmaker recalled diving into his past. “It was inspired by a relationship that I had just gotten into — for the first time in my life, I felt like I was extremely out of control of the way this relationship would turn out. Meaning like, in the past, I feel like I’ve always known that I could be the one to end a relationship. This one felt very different. It was the first time that I’d really been actually, genuinely terrified to lose something.”
