Back to the Beginning, a celebration of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, will take place in a little more than a week. On July 5, Sabbath’s original lineup will perform together for the last time. The event will also feature Osbourne’s final performance as a solo artist. Additionally, a long list of guest performers, including metal legends Slayer, Metallica, and Pantera, will take the stage to pay tribute to the godfathers of the genre.
Earlier today (June 24), Black Sabbath’s official Instagram account shared the first look at the legendary band preparing for the upcoming concert. However, they’re not on the stage. The photo shows no instruments. Instead, they’re working on one of the most important parts of the process: reconnecting. The photo shows Osbourne sitting on a couch with Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. Guitarist Tony Iommi isn’t in the photo, but some fans are speculating that he is behind the camera.

From the looks on their faces, it seems that all bickering between the band is water under the bridge. At the very least, they’ve chosen to bury the various hatchets to take part in what will surely be a landmark day for not only Osbourne and Black Sabbath but also the heavy metal world as a whole.
Tony Iommi Shared His Concerns Ahead of the Black Sabbath Reunion
In a recent interview, Tony Iommi shared his concerns about Back to the Beginning. “The worrying thing for me is the unknown,” he said. “We don’t know what’s going to happen. Normally, when we’d tour, we’d rehearse and run through the thing for a while, and it’s just us,” he explained. “With this event, there are so many moving parts.”
However, his anxiety isn’t just about the event. He’s felt this way ahead of every Black Sabbath tour in the past. “Once we start playing, then we’ll know we’re doing it. It’s always a worry, even when we did tours before. There’s always a build-up, and then it gets to the point that we do it, and that’s okay.”
