For any country music fan who traveled to Nashville, there is no better place to visit than the Grand Ole Opry. Founded in 1925, the venue offered not only a stage for some of the most beloved country music singers but a moment to add their name to history. Considered sacred ground to many country music singers, the venue will celebrate not only its contributions to the genre but its 100th anniversary. Crossing the century milestone, there seemed no better person to host the event than Blake Shelton.ย
With the Opry not shying away from the historic moment, Shelton will take the stage to host the Opry 100: A Live Celebration. Scheduled to air on NBC on March 19, Shelton opened up about when he first became a member of the Opry. โBecoming a member of the Opry is a highlight of my life and career, and 15 years later I still get that same feeling of reverence and excitement every time I walk out on that stage. The Grand Ole Opry has been connecting the country music family for 100 years, and Iโm so proud to be part of this historic celebration.โย
