Country Music Legend Performs on the Grand Ole Opry Stage for the First Time Since Husband’s Passing

Starting her career in country music during the 1970s, Lorrie Morgan found success when bringing songs like โ€œFive Minutesโ€ and โ€œI Didnโ€™t Know My Own Strengthโ€ to the airwaves. Throughout the years that followed, she landed numerous Top 10 hits. But that was just the start as she also collaborated with stars including Dolly Parton, the Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Pam Tillis, and several others. A true icon in country music, the singer recently showcased her single โ€œMe and Tequilaโ€ when she took the stage at the Grand Ole Opry.

While preparing for her performance, Morgan watched as her life drastically change after the death of her late husband Randy White. Married for over a decade, the singer mourned the death of her husband as she continued to push forward, determined to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Given that Nashville hosted the CMA Fest just a few days ago, the singer offered the audience a special treat when she performed her latest song.

Besides the audience loving the special performance, online, fans also shared their thoughts on the song, even if it was just a small portion. For one person, they admitted, โ€œMusic is medicine. Thinking of you Lorrie.โ€ Another comment focused on the singerโ€™s pain of losing her husband. โ€œGlad you’re out there singing your heart out. Know it’s tough but music will get you through like it always has! Love you Lorrie Morgan, you’re one of the all time best!โ€

Over the last few months, Morgan canceled a string of shows to stay beside her husband, who battled mouth cancer since 2024. Sadly, on June 1st, White passed away. Marrying each other back in 2010, the country singer admitted White had been her rock for numerous years. โ€œRandy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man.โ€

Although heartbroken over the loss, the singer decided to focus on the good as Morgan wrote, โ€œI was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.โ€
