
Courtney Marie Andrews announced today that her third LP, Honest Life, will comeย out August 19 through Mama Bird Recording Co. The album meldsย indie-folk and Americana, and featuresย prominent pedal steel, electric guitar, and piano.
Since she was 16, Andrews has been touring the world as a vocalist and lead guitar player in a number of bands, all while gaining aย reputation as a songwriter’s songwriter. She settled in rural Washington state to work onย the new album.
Regarding the origins ofย Honest Life, she says,ย “While in Belgium for four months, I was going through a major heartbreak. It was a giant hurdle in my life. My first true growing pains as a woman. That’s why in a sense, I feel this record is a coming of age album. A common thread that runs through the songs, is a great desire to fit somewhere, when nowhere fits.”
