SONG I WISH I WROTE: “House Where Nobody Lives” by Tom Waits

5 PEOPLE Iโ€™D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH:ย Joe Henry, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Lucinda Williams & John Prine. Steve Earle shows up late and kicks my ass for not being invited.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE:ย Seeing Bruce Springsteen and the heart-stopping, pants-dropping, hard-rocking, booty-shaking, love-making, earth-quaking, death-defying, legendary E Street Band.

I WROTE THIS SONG:ย I played hooky from my factory job when i was living in slc and drove to a park where i spent a lot of time as a kid. there was a big beautiful tree that looked like it had a story to tell me, so i sat there under her branches and let her whisper it in my ear. itโ€™s about losing someone you love, and all youโ€™ll ever really have left are days to think about everything you did wrong.
