We are now just days away from Drake releasing the lead single for his upcoming For All The Dogs album. At least according to him, that is.
Last night (September 11), the Toronto icon visited the Moody Center in Austin, Texas, for his latest stop on the It’s All a Blur Tour, alongside co-headliner 21 Savage. There, in the middle of his performance, he decided to let the attendees know his plans for the rest of the week, which included putting out a new song.

โIโm even going to say something tonight in Austin, Texas I havenโt said yet,โ he told the crowd. โI know yโall excited to hear the album. I know itโs, like two weeks out. Iโm a drop a song for yโall this week… What a time. I appreciate yโall. Deeply, by the way, I do. Itโs a lot of love in Texas.โ
Though Drake did not confirm a release date or title of the song, it would be fair to assume that it will arrive on Friday (September 15), and will land on the track list of his aforementioned impending LP, which is set to release on September 22.
Monday night also saw Drake make his way to the stage accompanied by basketball star Kevin Durant, who is a longtime friend of Drake’s and has a lot of history in Austin, considering he played college basketball in the city. However, this was not the first time Drizzy has been joined by a big-name celebrity at a tour date this year, nor is it the first time he’s shared crucial information regarding For All The Dogs.
In recent weeks, Drake has actually been seen with stars like Bad Bunny, J. Cole, Travis Scott, Teezo Touchdown, Sexyy Red, and more on tour. Additionally, he has continuously provided updates to crowds at these concerts, such as delivering the news that both Bad Bunny and Nicki Minaj will be featured on his forthcoming project.

Currently, not much is known about how the album will sound or what Drake’s approach will be going into it, aside from the proclamation he made that it will see the return of “the old Drake.” However, Lil Yachty recently spoke on what fans can expect from it, as he has been able to establish a close relationship with Drake in recent years.
โ[For All The Dogs] has the most, I would say like the most โperformanceโ album heโll have, as far as like energy,โ Yachty said on his A Safe Place podcast last week. โI think some of the best Drake verses that I ever heard are on this albumโฆ Some of the verses Iโm just like, โBruh, whatโs wrong with you?โ You know what Iโm saying? People gonna have a lot to say about some of his topics on this album. And I donโt think he does it on purpose, I think itโs just him โ I will say he deals with some controversial things.โ
