Drake Responds to Charlamagne tha God Diss: “You Really Obsessed with Me”

On Instagram, Drake has responded to several negative comments made about him by Charlamagne tha God on a recent episode of the latter’s podcast, The Brilliant Idiots. During the episode, Charlamagne criticized Drake’s recent collaboration single with SZA, “Slime You Out.”

โ€œWhat scares me โ€” and itโ€™s not a scare because Drakeโ€™s gonna be fine โ€” Drake put out a song last Friday and โ€ฆ nobody cared. The Drake and SZA record,โ€ Charlamagne said. โ€œIt came out last Friday, and people just started talking about the lyrics yesterday. โ€˜Cause I saw people posting about how he said something about, โ€˜Whipped and chained you like [American] slave.โ€™”

Earlier today, Drake posted a heated response to Charlamagne tha God on Instagram Stories. โ€œAre you ok Lenard?? You kinda weirding me out g. Like you really obsessed with me or something for years like you look in the mirror and wish you saw my reflection type shit,” Drake wrote. โ€œWhatever you gotta do to let it out Iโ€™m sure your 435 loyal fans will stand by you ya fucking goof.โ€

Drake also referred to Charlamagne as an โ€œoff-brand Morris Chestnut.โ€ During the September 25 episode of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne struck back again against Drake in a response to the “Hotline Bling” singer’s post on Instagram Stories, which was also shared online by hip-hop influencer DJ Akademiks. โ€œBack in the day, I can say I was hating on Drake for fun. It was hilarious, at least to me,โ€ Charlamagne stated. The bad blood between Drake and Charlamagne dates back to at least 2018.

During a recent conversation with Lil Yachty, Drake discussed how he is interested in making a “graceful exit” from the music industry. โ€œWell, I think on a broader scale, I think Iโ€™m at the point now where I just wanna โ€” I feel like maybe we talked about this the other day โ€” but I feel like Iโ€™m kind of introducing the concept in my mind of a graceful exit,โ€ Drake explained. โ€œIโ€™ll still be around to, you know, work with people or do a show here or there, but Iโ€™m not going to force myself to compete… So I guess thatโ€™s the one thing that I want for myself really badly.โ€
