During a broadcast of his weekly Facebook series “Inside Studio G,” living country legend Garth Brooks shared the title, cover artwork and release date for his forthcoming album Gunslinger, due out November 25. Gunslinger is the 11th studio album from Brooks and is a follow-up to 2014’s Man Against Machine. Brooks recently debuted the album’s first single, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance,” which debuted at number 19 on the Billboardย Country Songs chart.
“The album title came to me when somebody asked me what my favorite thing about being on the road was,” Brooks says in a press release. “I said ‘It just feels good to be out there being a Gunslinger again. Just aiming with the heart and shooting from the hip, that’s what you do on the stage, right? And, lucky enough, you’ve got the ammo of ‘Friends In Low Places,’ ‘Callin’ Baton Rouge,’ ‘Shameless’ and you do.ย Youโre a gunslinger out there. And each showโs different and you just shoot from the hip all night long.’ As soon I said it, I knew that was the album title right there.”
The album is one of a handful of projectsย due from Brooks this fall, following the two November 11 releases of Christmas Together, a holiday collaboration with his wife Trisha Yearwood, and Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection, a Target-exclusive 10-disc box set that also includes Gunslinger. A track list for Gunslinger has not yet been released.
