On March 1, 2025, Grammy-nominated R&B singer Angie Stone traveled to Atlanta with her band. Finishing up a concert in Mobile, Alabama for Mardi Gras, the band suffered a car accident when the Mercedes-Benz the group was traveling in overturned on the highway due to being hit by a semi-truck. While first responders rushed to the scene, helping members of the band, Stone sadly passed away. With fans honoring her legacy in the music industry, the singerโs catalog saw a 1,300 percent boost following her death.ย
Looking at the numbers offered by Luminate, Stoneโs rich discography gained over 600,000 streams in the week leading up to her passing. Since the news broke, that number climbed to over 8.4 million streams. Among the songs fans listened to the most were โNo More Rain (In This Cloud)โ, โWish I Didnโt Miss Youโ, and โBrotha.โ

Family And Fans Continue To Celebrate Legacy Of Angie Stone
While celebrating Stoneโs career, the singerโs family took a moment to thank fans for their continued support through the difficult time. Posting a message on Instagram, the family wrote, โHer daughter Diamond, and her son Michael want to thank you all for reaching out to the family. They ask that you respect their privacy as they grieve the loss of their mother.โ
Discussing the impact Stone had not only in music but on aspiring female artists, the family added, โAngie was an example for black women and girls everywhere. Angie also loved and championed for black men with her Number One Hit entitled โBrothaโ.โ
Besides her legacy in music, the family also celebrated Stoneโs drive to give back. โAngie Stone believed in giving back to her fans and the community with her foundation โAngel Stripes.โ Angie Stone was a proud honorary member of the Zeta Phi beta sorority.โ
Fans continue to shower Stone with praise and love, writing, โShe was a force and pioneer in this business. We will miss her terribly. Please accept my sincere condolences and we will continue to lift up her memory, the family and her foundation.โ Another person concluded, โMy sincere condolences to all the family. Love you Angie Stone your music will live on forever.โ
