“Songwriting is an escape from the reality when you have to say the right thing at the right time. A lot of my songs are confessions of love… I’m more likely to say ‘I miss you’ or ‘I love you’ in a song rather than a text message, which is why there’s always a delay when I tell people how I feel.”
