Katy Perry’s Final 3-Word Tweet Before Blasting off Into Space Goes Viral

As countless Americans traveled to work on Monday morning, Katy Perry stood alongside Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, and Kerianne Flynn as they looked to become the first all-female crew to launch into space. Helmed by Blue Origin, the spacecraft sat on the West Texas launchpad as the women approached the vessel. Looking to the heavens, the moment appeared surreal as the final countdown started. But before finding her seat and feeling the rumble beneath her, Perry was sure to send her friends, family, and fans one last message. 

Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission marked a significant moment for the Jeff Bezos company as it was the first all-female crew since the 1960s. Back in 1963, Valentina Tereshkova became the first woman in space. But given the advances in technology over the last few years, companies like Blue Origin and SpaceX looked to capitalize on the space tourism industry.

Although knowing the significance of the moment, Perry shared her love for those around her as she tweeted, “I Love you.” Posting the message a little after 7:00 a.m., the message received over 14 million views as fans rallied around her, offering love and support.

Katy Perry Considered Experience “Second To Being A Mom”

Not three hours after posting the message, Perry sat inside the spacecraft as it lifted from the ground. With the flight consisting of a former NASA rocket scientist, a bioastronautics researcher, a broadcast journalist, a film producer, and a pop-culture icon, the females soaked in every second of the flight that only lasted around 11 minutes. 

While not spending weeks or even months in space, the short flight was more than enough for the crew to see just how massive the world was and the vastness of space. As for Perry, she decided to take a daisy flower with her on the flight. She even made sure to lift the flower into the air when she returned back to Earth. 

Stepping out of the capsule, Perry was sure to kiss the ground. Speaking with the press after the historic flight, she insisted, “This experience is second to being a mom.”

Marking another successful flight from Blue Origin, the company continued to move forward with its plans t make space travel available to those willing to see Earth from a different view.
