While several artists celebrate the holiday season by releasing a Christmas album, it appears that the famous chicken establishment KFC wanted to spread some holiday cheer. And knowing the importance of good food and great music, KFC found a perfect way to celebrate Christmas as the organization released a special vinyl using their famous KFC bucket.
Founded by Colonel Harland Sanders, the entrepreneur started his company by selling fried chicken on the side of the road. That passion led to over 30,000 locations in 150 countries. Sharing a post on Instagram, the company revealed the new KFC bucket that doubled as a vinyl. Over the last few years, vinyl gained a great deal of popularity. And wanting to mix both chicken and music, KFC showcased their creativity by using the bucket lid as a vinyl.

Releasing details about the vinyl lid, KFC suggested the design still featured the same paper lids the brand always used. But this time, the company gave the lids a vinyl coating that could be played on a record player. “We transformed our iconic bucket to make the lid a playable record. Set the holiday mood with Finger Lickin’ Good food and music all at once.”

KFC Vinyl Lids Come With Classic Christmas Songs
Labeled Kentucky Fried Carols, the lid vinyl featured songs like “Jingle Bells”, “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”, and “Deck The Halls.” With the vinyl announced, fans of KFC made their rounds, hoping to get their hand on the prized buckets. But there was a catch as only 10 vinyl buckets were made.
While looking to give away the buckets in a contest, KFC released the rules, writing, “Open to age of 18 or 19+, depending on the province/territory (excluding Quebec). 10 prizes available on Instagram. Prize consists of a limited edition KFCarols Record and sleeve.” The company also detailed what a person needed to do. “Follow @kfc_canada on Instagram, comment on this post during contest period tagging your festive crew. A random draw for entries received via Instagram will be held.”
Although one of the most creative holiday specials to come from a fast food restaurant, KFC hasn’t announced if the buckets will be available in other countries. For now, only KFC Canada has the vinyl lids as they can’t be purchased as their restaurants.
