Drawing inspiration from singers like Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole, Mathis went on to record hits including โWhen a Child Is Bornโ, โMy Love For Youโ, and โMaria.โ Receiving a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a spot in the Grammy Hall of Fame, the singer recently announced he was retiring from touring due to ongoing issues with his age and memory.ย
Turning 90 years old this coming September, Mathis continued to travel the country with his 2025 Voice of Romance Tour. With future performances canceled, the singer hoped to hit the stage for concerts on April 10th, April 26th, and May 10th. May 18th marked the last concert from Mathis at the Bergen PAC in Englewood, New Jersey. For fans who happened to purchase a ticket for dates after May 18th, his team noted they would receive a refund.ย
