Liam Gallagher Says the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is for “Wankers” Following Oasis’ Nomination

For many bands and singers, there is no greater honor than landing in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With many already winning awards and performing all over the world, they tend to love the legacy they created. But when it came to the Rock Hall, singers knew their legacy impacted the entire music industry. With the organization strict when it comes to who they let in, Oasis found themselves nominated in 2024. Although not selected, the group was once again put on the list in 2025. And not shy about sharing his thoughts, Liam Gallagher decided to give his truth about the Rock Hall. 

Although more than willing to give his honest feedback, Gallagher seemed to care little about what the Rock Hall thought of Oasis. Not one to focus on the band being recognized by the organization, he wrote in a tweet, “RNR hall of fame is for WANKERS.”

Putting it plain and simple, one fan asked the singer what would happen if the Rock Hall decided to induct them. Gallagher responded, “Obv go and say it’s the best thing EVER.” Knowing how to play the game, Gallagher wouldn’t miss the event but cared little if Oasis ever got the opportunity.

Liam Gallagher Not Impressed With Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame

Not the first time Gallagher criticized the Rock Hall, he once blasted the event when speaking with The Sunday Times. Having seen the organization debate inducting members outside of just Rock and Roll, the singer declared, “As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favour and f*** off. It’s like putting me in the rap hall of fame, and I don’t want to be part of anything that mentally disturbed. Besides, I’ve done more for rock n’ roll than half of them clowns on that board.” 

Although overlooked in the past, the odds of Oasis entering the Rock Hall seemed to increase given the announcement of the band’s new tour. And for some, the hope that will come with new music. Among the list of nominees standing beside Oasis, it included, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Outkast, Maná, Joe Cocker, New Order, Cyndi Lauper, The White Stripes, and Mariah Carey.
