Luke Combs has been making waves since releasing his No. 1 debut single “Hurricane” in 2016. Now, less than a decade after introducing himself to the world, he is one of the biggest names in country music. Recently, Combs marked a major career milestone that, in one regard, put him on equal footing with country greats like Alan Jackson and George Strait.
With his latest single, “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” topping the charts for a second week, Combs has officially spent more than a year at the top of the charts. Over the course of his short career, he has logged 53 weeks at the summit of various charts. Few country artists have managed this feat before him. Now, he stands in an elite club with Jackson, Strait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, and Toby Keith.

The feat comes after Combs launched 18 tracks to the top of the Billboard Country Airplay chart and scored 19 consecutive No. 1 placements on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart.
Luke Combs Reacts to Major Career Milestone
Luke Combs reacted to his latest achievement in a press release. “I’m speechless honestly,” he shared. “I was unaware of this until my team told me and I’m really blown away,” he added.
“The support from country radio for my music and fans has always been more than I ever could have imagined. I’ve always known they were huge supporters of my music, but this proves it in more ways than one,” Combs continued. “I never thought I would get one week at No. 1 but when I did, I felt like I had won the lottery. So for my songs to have spent a full year at No. 1 with guys I grew up listening to and admiring is more than I could have ever dreamed of,” he added.
Combs concluded his statement with gratitude for those who helped him achieve this momentous feat. “Thank you, country radio, for letting this young man from North Carolina, who most had never heard of when y’all started playing my music, live out his dreams and do what he loves,” he shared.
