Maren Morris has teamed up with Teddy Swims for a tender rendition of his song “Some Things I’ll Never Know.” Morris adds new dimensions to the song, which is a poignant expression of heartbreak and pondering the various what-ifs.

On “Some Things I’ll Never Know,” Swims brings a softness that borders on melancholy, which Morris swiftly matches. With the piano playing in the background, the song takes listeners on a journey. Morris takes a step back in the first verse of the song, letting Swims set the tone.

Both Morris and Swims perfectly match in the chorus, bringing the song to a powerful close. With Morris’s presence, the song becomes more about potential lovers longing for missed connections. Originally, Swims went solo when he sang the tune on his debut album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1).
Swims explained that the tune was a way for him to heal and process a lot of inner feelings he had. However, when he had the opportunity to have Morris appear on the tune, he jumped at the opportunity.
“‘Some Things I’ll Never Know’ is a very special song to me from my debut album… It’s one that has brought me so much healing and acceptance by writing it and now sharing it with the world,” Swims said in a statement. “It’s an honor to have Maren Morris join me on this track, she truly connected with the song and has brought such a new life to it.”
Morris was overwhelmed by the emotion that Swims brought to his music. She said she struggled to get through the recording without breaking down at times, due to the rawness of the tune. She had nothing but good things to say about Swims and the experience.
“Teddy’s vulnerability on this song really struck a chord, so turning it into a duet felt incredibly healing for me,” Morris said in a statement. “I barely made it through my vocal in the booth, I was so emotional. Watching his career has been so exciting and I am thrilled for our fans to hear this version of what was already a magical song.”
