The 2025 NFL Draft kicked off Thursday, April 24, with a mesmerizing national anthem performance from rising country-rocker Stephen Wilson Jr. In other news for Nashville gridiron enthusiasts, the Tennessee Titans nabbed Miami Hurricanes star quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick. As he heads to the home of country music, the native Texan opened up on his own musical preferences. And it turns out that he’s already a huge fan of one country artist.
Cam Ward Is a “Big Morgan Wallen Guy”
During a press conference Thursday night, newly minted Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward discussed Warren Moon, Steve McNair, and his love for a certain Entertainer of the Year’s music.

“You’re headed to Nashville,” a reporterย says from behind the camera.ย “What’s your Top 3 country playlist right now?”
โIโm a big Morgan Wallen guy,โ replied Ward, 22. โโLast Nightโ is probably my number one song by him. I like โLove Somebody.โ And the last one, I canโt remember what it was. Iโll have to go through my Spotify playlist, but Morgan Wallen… he cool.”

Born in West Columbia, Texas, Ward bounced around the college circuit a bit after graduating from Columbia High School in 2020. Accepting his lone scholarship offer from the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, he played a season with the Cardinals before transferring to Washington State.
Graduating in 2023, Ward used his remaining year of eligibility to transfer to the University of Miami. Leading the Hurricanes to a 10-3 record during the 2024 season, he finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
Now, he arrives in Nashville looking to right the ship for a Titans team that won just three games in 2024.
Morgan Wallen Is Also a Fan of the Tennessee Titans’ New QB
Apparently, Morgan Wallen has also heard of Cam Ward. The “Smile” crooner, 31, shared a clip of the Tennessee Titans’ newest member’s press interview to his Instagram Stories Friday (April 25) morning.
“Welcome to TN @camward let’s get it!” Wallen wrote.
Commented one Instagram user, “He will be walking out with Morgan on his next tour.”
