U2 and YouTube: how have they not teamed together before?
On Sunday, October 25, the world’s most popular Internet video site will stream the world’s most popular Irish rock band’s LA show, part of the band’s ongoing 360 Tour. It will be YouTube’s first start-to-finish live stream of a rock show. Kick off time is 8:30 p.m. (PT).
Bill Cosby will drop his very own hip hop album on November 24. Entitled Bill Cosby Presents the Cosnarati: State of Emergency, the album was co-wrtitten by Cosby (who doesn’t actually rap) and features guest appearances from Eric Clapton, LL Cool J, Alicia Keys and Rudy Huxtable. Well, okay, maybe just the first three. You don’t actually have to wait until the 24th, though: the album is currently available now from digital retailers. Stream a few tracks at Billcosby.com.
Curious about Rod Stewart’s upcoming album of soul covers, Soulbook? Watch a video Q and A with the artist at Billboard.com where he discusses the project at length.
Here’s an excerpt from the accompanying text:
Did you choose any tracks based on what kind of vocal spin you could put on them?
RS: As a vocalist, you never know what you’re going to sing until you put the headphones on and the microphone is in front of you. I even surprised myself sometimes. On “Rainy Night in Georgia,” I changed the melody a little bit but I didn’t lose sight of the original. It’s never preplanned-I guess that’s why it’s called “soul singing.”
Check out our own David Mead today as he plays songs from his new record, Almost and Always, on World Cafe radio. Listen here at 2 p.m. Eastern.
