Becoming one of the biggest names in music, Elton John watched as he sold over 300 million albums and became one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Having spent over six decades in the music industry, the icon also accumulated more than awards as his net worth climbed to over $650 million. Able to buy anything he wanted, Patti LaBelle shared how John once took her Tupperware and never returned it. Although decades passed since that moment, LaBelle still wanted her Tupperware back.ย
Sitting down to discuss her career on Sherri, LaBelle had fun with the interview, offering fans some stories about John. Before becoming a top name in music, John played in the band Bluesology. Around that time, he also helped LaBelle by playing the piano for her. Knowing him as Reginald Dwight, his birth name, the singer remembered inviting the band over to play cards. Little did they know, LaBelle knew a great deal about the game.ย

Besides revealing she took โall their moneyโ, LaBelle admitted she had to feed the band since they had no money to eat. โThey had no food, so I made them food to take home in my Tupperware. So my Tupperware is very important to me โ I donโt give it out.โ She continued, โSo I gave them some food to take back home, and they never paid me back. And I said to Elton, โI want my durn Tupperware!’โ

Elton John Gave Patti LaBelle More Than Just Tupperware
Just two years after the Tupperware incident, LaBelle received a call from John asking her to join him on stage. With Johnโs stardom taking off, the lost dish never seemed to find its way back to the singer – but John never forgot.ย
In 2005, both John and LaBelle joined forces once again to cover the classic song โYour Song.โ Around that time, they also took the stage for a special performance. And at that moment, John paid her back as heย โtook his rings off and put them on the piano. When we finished, I said, โElton, thereโs your ring.’ He said, โThatโs your Tupperwareโ.โ
While not her original Tupperware, LaBelle cherished the gift for John and insisted she still has it today.
