Among the songs Nelson played during his set at Ray Benson’s 66th Birthday Bash was “I Woke Up Still Not Dead Today.” Benson cracked up at the line, “Don’t bury me, I got a show to play.”

Here is a beauty of a instrument from Asher Guitars. Bill Asher is a California-based boutique builder who's instruments have found favor with artists such as Jackson Browne, Beck, and Ben Harper. This guitar features a mandolin style scroll on the upper bout, and Seymour Duncan pickups inspired by Gibson's AlNiCo Staple pickups of the 50's.
We headed to Hamden, CT the next day, where they had a real piano for me to play and a decent crowd for us. Then it was on to Boston and Berklee College of Music’s Club 939. This was one of the best shows of the tour. They had a beautiful Yamaha Grand for me, and the crowd was hanging on every word. We recorded the whole thing, so that show may be hitting your eardrums at some point. Thank you Boston, you never disappoint!
