Known as the director behind films like The Princess Bride, A Few Good Men, Stand By Me, and When Harry Met Sally, Rob Reiner was deemed an icon in Hollywood. Sadly, on Sunday, the director and his wife, Michele, were murdered in their Los Angeles home. With an investigation underway, the police arrested Reinerโs son, Nick Reiner, in connection with the murders. While Nick remains in custody, the tributes for Reiner poured in. And never forgetting the impact he had on her career, Reba McEntire deemed her friend a โgiftโ to the world.ย
Posting a throwback picture of herself and Reiner on set, Reba recalled the memories they shared together. โI enjoyed every minute I was around Rob Reiner. He was one of a kind. I got to work with him on the movie North and he also helped us with our ending of my video, โDoes He Love You.โ I sure will miss him. What a gift he was to this world. Rest in peace, my friend.โ

Reba McEntire Labeled Rob Reiner A “Great Director” And “Great Person”
Back in 1993, Reba collaborated with Linda Davis for โDoes He Love You.โ Part of Rebaโs Greatest Hits Volume 2 album, the lyrics surrounded the chaos that comes with a love triangle. When released, it crossed into the Top 50 on the US Hot Country Songs and US Country Airplay charts.ย
That same year, Reba walked on set to film a music video for the song. Working with Jon Small on the video, Reiner also helped when he appeared at the end, yelling, โCut.โ Around the same time, the director was working on the film North, which happened to star Reba. Spending a great deal of time together, the country singer never forgot his influence.ย
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight about the tragedy, Reba found it incredibly difficult to stay positive over recent events. โItโs been a very emotional day, along with what happened in Australia and Brown University, Rob and his family, lovely wife. Itโs hard to be happy and energetic. All we can do is look back and lift all those people up, and say thanks for being here with us, the time you were.โ
As for her own connection with Reiner, Reba concluded, โHe was so gracious to be a part of my video โDoes He Love Youโ with Linda Davis, and he was just so much fun, open, great director, great person. His legacy is his workโฆ I sure will miss him. He was a great guy.โ
