Rod Stewart doesnโt often find himself at the center of controversy, but heโs not immune to the occasional spat with another famous person. One famous person in question was none other than Russell Brand, someone who often finds himself at the center of controversy.
Back in 2006, both Brand and Stewart attended GQโs Men of the Year Awards. During the award ceremony, Brand took to the stage to give his acceptance speech. In his speech, Brand apparently admitted to being involved with Stewartโs daughter, Kimberly.

โHereโs to Rod Stewart, who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanizing,โ Brand said. โBut then again, I did have a go on his daughter.โ
The comment was in poor taste at the time, and in even more poor taste in the wake of Brand recently being charged with assault following numerous allegations from other women spanning decades. And, at the time in 2006, Stewart was not going to let that comment slide.
Rod Stewart Once Confronted Russell Brand in Front of Hundreds of People Over Rude Comments About His Daughter
Later during the GQ ceremony, Rod Stewart took to the stage to accept the award for Outstanding Achiever. Rather than focusing on the recognition given to him, he quickly opted to confront Brand for his repulsive comment.
โYou went with my daughter, did you?โ said Stewart, before demanding that Brand stand up in the audience.
At first, it seemed like the whole thing might have been a lighthearted joke. Brand said he took Kimberly out for one date, which prompted Stewart to ask if he โbehaved himself.โ Brand said that he โnever touchedโ her, and Stewartโs following comments made it clear he wasnโt joking around.
โF***ing right, you didnโt,โ said Rod Stewart. โYou mustnโt come up here and boast. I speak here as a father.โ
Rumors spread shortly after that Brand attempted to apologize, but in a later interview with Stewart, it was clear that he was not interested in accepting any sort of apology.
โHe might be a bit of a player but he shouldnโt boast,โ Stewart told the Evening Standard. โI never did. Russellโs been a bit timid since I had my say.โ
The year 2006 was a very different time, but in the context of Brandโs recent charge, this whole debacle involving Rod Stewart has a more sinister undertone to it.
