Although Riley Green spent over a decade in country music, recording hits like โThere Was This Girlโ and โHalf of Meโ, the country singer grew a stellar mustache. A talented singer in country music, Greenโs mustache gained its own group of fans, which included Ella Langley, who collaborated with him on โYou Look Like You Love Me.โ While fans loved the mustache, Green did the unthinkable when he decided to shave it off, leaving many heartbroken.
On Tuesday, fans noticed something a little different when Green shared a post on his Instagram page. Sitting in his car, the singer flashed a smile at the camera without his signature mustache. Not using AI to trick fans, Green wrote, โNever let em know your next move.โ While Green seemed to like the clean cut look, fans had a entirely different reaction.

Gaining thousands of views, fans wrote, โWithout a mustache Heโs just great value Morgan Wallen.โ Another person added, โIโm feeling the same feeling when my parents got divorcedโฆ. When I was 10. Betrayal but I get to stay at 2 houses now. Iโm conflicted.โ And if that wasnโt enough, โNot to be dramaticโฆbutโฆWHAT THE FRICK.โ
One fan even suggested that Green might have a secret girlfriend who persuaded the country singer to shave it.
How Ella Langley Got Riley Green To Keep The Mustache
While just speculation for now, Langley recently admitted to being the reason Green kept the mustache in the first place. โI will tell you, everyoneโs excited about Rileyโs mustache, you can thank me for Rileyโs mustache, other than God, I guess, and his parents. The โYou Look Like You Love Meโ music video, I co-directed that, and I just knew I wanted it to be an old western. And one thing about my dad, he was watching old westerns or a war movies on Sundays after church.โ
Wanting to capture that vintage feel, Langley knew the mustache needed to stay. โI was listening to the song, I just thought of it in a bar, kind of how an old western is.” She continued, “I told Riley that he could not shave his mustache off at least for the music video, and so here we are still a year later he has it, itโs great. I donโt think he can get rid of stache, either. Weโre stuck this way.โ
Although able to get Green to keep the mustache for the music video, the country singer appeared to love his new look, while fans were divided.
