Riley Green Sets the Record Straight Over Media Frenzy Surrounding His Hunting Accident

Growing up with a love for country music, Riley Green eventually sought to produce a career in the music industry. And over the last decade, he recorded hits like โ€œI Wish Grandpas Never Diedโ€, โ€œHalf Of Meโ€, and โ€œThere Was This Girl.โ€ With Green continuing to win awards and release new music, the country singer found himself taking over headlines in 2025 when he suffered an accident while out hunting. While fans worried about the initial headlines, Green recently discussed how the media frenzy exaggerated the incident.ย

Kicking off 2025, Green decided to spend some time in the woods, hunting. Although not out of the ordinary for the singer, he eventually traveled to a nearby hospital when he accidentally stepped on a nail. While all the details surfaced about the accident, Green recalled how the headlines made it seem worse than what actually happened. โ€œIt was really not that bad. I was hunting in Ohio, and I stepped on a nail, and it snowed, and soโ€ฆ I went to the hospital to get a shot, a tetanus shot.โ€

Not that big of a deal for Green, he added how the headlines reported the news. โ€œThere was an article that came out that said it was โ€˜impaled.โ€™ Which sounds awful, and it said I was hospitalized, which is very different from going to the hospital. But Iโ€™m fine.โ€

Riley Green Used The Word “Impaled” To Explain Hunting Accident

With Green sharing an update about his accident on social media, he seemed in high spirits, admitting, โ€œAt the emergency room, โ€˜cuz I stepped on a nail, impaled my foot, and when I took my boot off, corn fell all over the floor. The lady came in here wanting to know where all the corn came from.โ€ Finding the humor in the situation, he joked, โ€œItโ€™s from my boot; you donโ€™t want me to take this other one off, either. Real world problems.โ€

While the singer pointed to headlines using the word โ€œImpaledโ€, Green used the same exact word in his original video. Although knowing how the media can manipulate a story and its headline, Green might have played a crucial part in how the story developed online.
