The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum just announced its 2016 inductees. Of the eleven nominees, five artists were chosen: Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, Steve Miller and N.W.A. Nominees who didn’t make the cut are The Cars, Chic, Janet Jackson, Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths and Yes.
This is the first year that fans were allowed to take place in the voting process, which typically only includes artists and industry insiders. The 2016 class will be inducted during a ceremony at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on April 8. The ceremony will also be recorded for broadcast on HBO.
