Snoop Dogg Apologized to Kendrick Lamar After Accidentally Posting Drake’s Diss Track

At the height of Drakeโ€™s feud with Kendrick Lamar, the singer decided to release a diss track titled โ€œTaylor Made Freestyle.โ€ Throughout the song, which hit airwaves in April, the lyrics included vocals from both Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur. Although Tupac passed away back in 1996, the song used AI to bring the rapperโ€™s voice back to life. Shortly after the song was released, Snoop Dogg shared it on his Instagram Stories. But according to the rapper, he accidentally shared the post thinking it was something else entirely.ย

Appearing on the Bootleg Kev podcast, Snoop Dogg decided to clear the air about the beef between Lamar and Drake. When Lamar dropped his album GNX back in November, his song โ€œWacced Out Muralsโ€ included the lyrics, โ€œโ€˜Taylor Madeโ€™ / I prayed it was the edibles / I couldnโ€™t believe it, it was only right for me to let it go.โ€

Not wanting to give excuses, Snoop Dogg offered his side of the situation, admitting, โ€œHeโ€™s a rapper, man. Heโ€™s supposed to speak his mind and tell his truth. Thatโ€™s the way he felt. You know what Iโ€™m saying? He has the right to say that. Iโ€™m his big homeboy, so I have to take whatโ€™s given to me from his perspective because heโ€™s speaking truth. And the truth shouldnโ€™t hurt you. It should make you better.โ€

Snoop Dogg Hoped To Make It Right With Kendrick Lamar

Snoop Dogg continued discussing the incident, claiming it all happened due to an accident. โ€œWhat happened was, I did a collaborative post with someone [on Instagram]. So when I post it, Iโ€™m thinking Iโ€™m posting โ€˜Gin and Juice.โ€™ I donโ€™t know what song this is. Iโ€™m not hip to everybodyโ€™s music. Then I get the word, โ€˜Nephew didnโ€™t like what you did.โ€™โ€ The rapper wondered, โ€œWhat did I do?โ€

Learning that he posted Drakeโ€™s diss track, Snoop Dogg moved to make it right by calling Lamar. Wanting to explain himself and how it happened, the rapper insisted, โ€œI apologize. I was f***ed up, my bad.โ€™โ€

With Snoop Dogg trying to make it write, the rapper released his 20th studio album just a few days ago with Missionary. Working with Dr. Dre on the album, the tracklist featured appearances from stars like Eminem, 50 Cent, Tom Petty, and even Jelly Roll.ย
