Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks once likened her time with the band to a “scandalous” and “incestuous” soap opera. Much of that drama stemmed from her tumultuous romance with lead guitarist Lindsey Buckingham. Too much romantic friction would eventually split the band up for good—or so we thought. With just five words and a click of the Follow button, the “Gold Dust Woman” songstress, 77, has ignited a fresh set of Rumors.
Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham Reunite on Social Media
Fleetwood Mac stars Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham have feuded quite publicly since breaking off their romance for good in 1976. Buckingham, 75, has blamed the “Edge of Seventeen” singer for his 2018 firing from the band. (Nicks disputes his account, telling Rolling Stone, “I dealt with Lindsey for as long as I could. You could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.”)

Naturally, fans couldn’t help but notice that the ex-lovers are now following one another on Instagram. And Nicks raised even more eyebrows with a mysterious Instagram post on Thursday (July 17.)
The Grammy winner shared a slide with the phrase “And if you go forward…” written in cursive against a white background. Longtime fans will recognize these lyrics from “Frozen Love,” the 1973 Buckingham Nicks tune that led to Mick Fleetwood discovering the duo.
So what, right? Could be pure coincidence. Well, if you head over to Buckingham’s Instagram page, he has shared his own post with the words “I’ll meet you there,” finishing out the line from “Frozen Love.”
“60 year situationship is crazy,” remarked one Instagram user.
And… cue the rumor mill. “What in the silver springs is going on around here!!!!” one incredulous fan asked on Nicks’ post.
“Our minds are exploding!” another chimed in. “Are you remastering [Buckingham Nicks] or is this our dreams coming true!”
Come on, Stevie and Lindsey—stop dragging our hearts around!
“Magic Then, Magic Now”: Fleetwood Mac Turns 50
Fifty years ago this month, Fleetwood Mac released their self-titled 1975 album featuring two brand-new members: Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. Drummer Mick Fleetwood reflected on the milestone in a July 16 Instagram post.
“Magic then, magic now,” Fleetwood captioned a video of himself (notably) listening to “Frozen Love.”
“The marriage of Stevie and Lindsey, the marriage of coming into Fleetwood Mac when they did, it’s all in the song,” he said in the video. “It’s in the music that played on for so many years. It’s magic then, it’s magic now. What a thrill, what a thrill. Amen.”
