Although producing a promising career as a solo artist, many remember Stevie Nicks for her time with Fleetwood Mac. While part of the legendary group, Nicks helped produce albums like Rumours and Mirage. With Fleetwood Mac thrusting Nicks into the spotlight, a great deal of turmoil seemed to surround the members of the band. And recently, Nicks decided to open up about her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, and the moment she said โIโm done.โย
Sitting down with Rolling Stone, Nicks discussed her long career in the music industry and the fame that followed her. But when it came time to speak about Buckingham, the singer decided to reveal when she finally broke up with him. Claiming it happened during the MusiCares benefit concert, she explained, โI didnโt even tell anybody it had happened in my head until the whole ceremony was over. I took with me that night a song that I had done with LeAnn Rimes called Borrowed. I took it with me to play for him because I thought we could do this song beautifully.”

Looking outside of their own relationship, Nicks found herself offended by how Buckingham treated those around him. Recalling how he was, she said, โThatโs when he wasnโt very nice to anybody. He wasnโt very nice to Harry Styles.”
Stevie Nicks Gave Lindsey Buckingham “300 Million Chances”
Constantly trying to make it work, Nicks declared she put up with โLindsey for as long as I could.โ She even added, โYou could not say that I did not give him more than 300 million chances.”
After watching how Buckingham acted towards those around him, Nicks remembered hearing her mother. “I could hear my mom saying, โAre you really going to spend the next 15 years of your life with this man?โ I could hear my very pragmatic father โ and by the way, my mom and dad liked Lindsey a lot โ saying, โItโs time for you guys to get a divorce.โ Between those two, I said, โIโm done’.”ย
While no longer romantically linked, Nicks took a moment to wish Buckingham the best moving forward with his career.
