Deryck Whibley Apologizes Once Again For Missed Shows

Wanting to address fans with much more than a single sentence, Whibley shared a video on his Instagram. Missing shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide, the singer said, โ€œIโ€™m so sorry for all the places that we couldnโ€™t get to and for the shows that we couldnโ€™t make. There were festivals in Australia, Mexico, and Canadaโ€ฆ we tried everything we could.โ€

Not able to make of the shows due to most of them being festivals, Whibley shared full details for those fans who missed them. โ€œIn Australia, it was very public. I had pneumonia.” He continued, “I was there, I did my best. I made it there. Unfortunately, we couldnโ€™t move any of those shows because they were festivals. All I can say โ€” and itโ€™s still not enough โ€” but, sincerely, Iโ€™m so sorry because we really wanted to play. It really just really fell out of our control and I canโ€™t say sorry enough. But Iโ€™m truly sorry.โ€

With fans rallying around the singer and remembering the legacy of Sum 41, one person insisted, โ€œAfter not having Sum 41 play a show in Ontario for almost three years, it felt like one big celebration with all the energy rather than an emotional end. Holding our 41 Salutes to the sky forever.โ€ย
