Carter Center Plans Musical Celebration for Jimmy Carter’s 100th Birthday
โI can think of no better way toย celebrateย him andย his 100thย birthday than a night of music,” the statement continued. President Carter famously befriended many musicians in his life, especially during his campaign trail when the Allman Brothers Band “rallied to his message of change, honesty, and character,” according to the Carter Center’s statement.
Chuck Leavell also contributed to the statement. โBack when Jimmy Carter was running for president, the Allman Brothers played concerts for his campaign because we believed in his vision for hope and change for America,” he wrote. “We could never have imagined what a positive impact he would have on the entire world. Itโs an honor to play at his 100th birthday and celebrate a man whose legacy will surely continue to inspire future generations.โ
Tickets for the historic event are $100, in honor of Jimmy Carter turning 100. The tickets go on sale on August 5, and the event takes place on September 17 in Atlanta.
