Juvenilia, theย work of a budding artist createdย amid the throes of puberty, is usually best left to rot in the basement or attic of one’s childhood home,ย or remain lost somewhere in the nether regions of cyberspace on a forgotten MySpace profile. But there are always exceptions, and one of these appears to be the first recorded album byย The Weeks, the swampy rock and roll band from Mississippi whose last two albums were released on Kings of Leonโs Serpents and Snakes label.
The previously unreleased effortย is called Lost Daysย and was recorded when the band members were 14 and 15 years old.
โTen years is a long time no matter how you look at it, especially when it comes to the life of a band,โ The Weeks said. โAnything you do in junior high, you tend to relish in the fact that you will change and grow. Whatever you did in those days wonโt shake loose from your cement shoes and come floating to the surface for everyone to see. Not The Weeks. Weโre proud of our past.โ
