“This Is a Complete Nothingburger”: Keith Urban Sets the Record Straight Over Perceived Interview Drama

On Tuesday, Keith Urban made headlines after having a rather interesting conversation with Australia’s Mix 102.3’s Hayley & Max in the Morning. Although it seemed like a normal interview, it took a turn when the hosts wanted the country star to play a game called the “Wall of Truth.” While seeming more than willing to take part in the little game, once the host asked about his thoughts on his wife Nicole Kidman’s sex scene, the Zoom call quickly ended. With the hosts believing that Urban took offense to the question, a source suggested he wasn’t the one to end the call. 

While speaking with hosts Max Burford and Hayley Pearson, Urban found himself playing a game that involved personal questions about his life. Having spent decades in the spotlight, the country singer didn’t seem to mind at first. That’s when Burford said, “When I was coming up with something to ask you, Keith Urban, if you happen to play this game, the first thing I thought of, with your beautiful wife Nicole Kidman being on so many great movies, TV shows all the time… I watched a movie with her and Zac Efron recently, A Family Affair.”

Urban appeared excited about Kidman’s film with Efron, calling it a “good one”, but Burford took the question a step further – “What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful loves scenes on TV and radio?”

At that exact moment, the call ended. Even the hosts were confused as to what happened as a producer announced, “I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question.”

Even Pearson suggested that it was the question that led to Urban deciding to end the call. But now, a source claimed it was not the country singer. “Keith did not hang up, period. He doesn’t host his Zoom interviews. This is a complete nothingburger.”

The source continued to share Urban’s side of the story, insisting the singer was “easygoing” and didn’t take offense to the question. 

While wanting to set the record straight, there was no explanation given as to why the call ended so quickly.
