Truth Is Stranger Than Fiction: Nicole Scherzinger Once Found Prince Hiding in a Bush

Well, the truth really can be stranger than fiction. According to singer Nicole Scherzinger, she once found the iconic pop star Prince hiding in a bush years ago.

In a new interview on the fiery-hot YouTube series Hot Ones, Nicole Scherzinger sat down to answer a few hard-hitting questions from host Sean Evans, all while eating progressively spicier hot wings. That alone is always entertaining to watch. However, Scherzinger revealed a particularly fascinating and strange story about how she once stumbled upon “my mentor, my friend, and my brother,” the famous “Purple Rain” singer Prince, in a very unlikely place.

Nicole Scherzinger Recalled the Time She Found Prince Hiding in a Bush Outside of a Concert

In the latest episode of Hot Ones, the Tony Award-winning actress and singer recalled the time she ran into Prince. According to Scherzinger, she was on her way to see him perform a show in Las Vegas with some friends. She didn’t expect to find Prince outside of the venue in a pretty uncompromising position.

“So, he’s got a show in Vegas, and I’m bringing my girlfriends, okay?” Scherzinger told Sean Evans. “And we’re super excited to see the show and to see him perform and support him. Me and my girlfriends are like, ‘This is awesome, the sun is shining, we get to see Prince tonight in concert, it’s gonna be magical.’ And me and my friends are talking, and then we hear a ‘Psst, psst!’”

According to Scherzinger, she looked over and quite comically saw a nearby bush moving.

“We see this bush kind of moving,” Scherzinger continued. “And we hear, ‘Psst! Psst!’ And I’ll be damned, Prince was hiding behind the bush trying to get my attention. I don’t know why!”

Scherzinger mentioned that it was “noon” and that the “Purple Rain” hitmaker was fully dressed for the concert and “looked amazing.” There’s a good chance that Prince just wanted to sneak out and talk to Scherzinger without drawing the attention of his often-rabid fans waiting outside the venue.

“Just Prince-ing it up, heels and all,” Scherzinger concluded.

Scherzinger and Prince allegedly met years before the latter artist sadly passed away in 2016. Shortly after his death, Scherzinger paid tribute to the singer online. It’s nice that she has at least one of what is likely many hilarious stories about Prince to remember him by.
