Helping lead the charge when it came to the new wave of British heavy metal, Iron Maiden not only rose to fame during the movement but went on to carve out their own place in the music industry. For nearly 50 years, the band released several studio albums with hit songs like โ2 Minutes to Midnightโ, โThe Number of the Beastโ, and โAces High.โ Much like any band, Iron Maiden went through a series of lineup changes over the decades. And with singers like Bruce Dickinson and Paul DiโAnno part of the bandโs history, it appears both artists met for the first time ever.ย
While both singers held a spot in Iron Maiden, it seems that neither of them ever met. But that all changed when Dickisno and DiโAnno were in Zagreb, Croatia. At the time, Dickinson toured the area to support his new album The Mandrake Project. For DiโAnno, he was there to promote his new debut album with his new band Warhorse.ย

Thankfully, a camera was on standby as the two rockstars seemed to find common ground in how time slipped away. With the pair talking about health, age, and staying mentally positive, DiโAnno said he looked forward to an upcoming knee surgery. โI wonโt be getting back on the Harley any time soon.โ

Fans loved the idea of the pair meeting for the first time as the video brought in thousands of views with comments reading, โThis is a great sight. They must make peace and getting along together – they are all old now, and their legacy is well established and secured. No need for ego clashes, etc.โ
Although loving his time with Iron Maiden, DiโAnno eventually left the group after arguing with both Steve Harris and manager Rod Smallwood. The disagreement seemed ongoing as they asked DiโAnno to leave the group. While upset over the decision for some time, in 2020, he admitted to not blaming them for the decision.ย
As for meeting with Harris in 2022, DiโAnno insisted, โ[I]t was brilliant because I met up with Steveโs sister Linda first, whom I hadnโt seen in about 30 years. And then Steve was amazing, and then Rod as well โ itโs made my whole year, actually. It was fantastic.โ
