On Thursday, Cage the Elephant shared a new music video for โ€œTrouble,โ€ the second single of their latest album Tell Me Iโ€™m Pretty. The video features a back-and-forth between the band performing in the desert and the story of a western-style duel and its delusional results. Watch the video below.

The video for โ€œTroubleโ€ was directed by frontman Matt Shultz, the project serving as the vocalistโ€™s directorial debut.

โ€œI really wanted to make a video that was like John Wayne or a young Clint Eastwood acting in a Cocteau Play or Ingmar Bergman’s Wild Strawberry’s,” Shultz told Pitchfork of the new video. “A metaphorical journey that hopefully people could read between the lines.”

Tell Me Iโ€™m Pretty was released in December of last year to critical acclaim. The album – which was produced by Black Keysโ€™ frontman Dan Auerbach – was recorded in Nashville and finds the band taking a more psychedelic approach to their garage-rock sound.

The group is currently on tour in support of the Tell Me Iโ€™m Pretty. A full list of tour dates can be seen below.
