
We got a first taste of “Left Hand Kisses,” a new tune from Andrew Bird and Fiona Apple, back in February when Bird announced his forthcoming April 1 releaseย Are You Serious. Earlier this week, the duo shared a music video for the song. The video portrays an intenseย back-and-forth between two “star-crossed lovers,” as Bird and Apple trade off lyrics over acoustic guitar and sweeping strings.
Phil Andelman, who’s also helmed videos for Passion Pit and Ryan Adams, directed the simple, emotive video. Yesterday, Bird and Apple took the tune to Ellen for an equally stirring performance. Watch the first live televised performance of “Left Hand Kisses” below.
