Ingrid Andress Sees Outrageous Listenership Boost After Viral National Anthem

Before entering the music industry, Ingrid Andress spent her childhood listening to bands like Coldplay and Evanescence. But going beyond just being a fan, the singer also started her own heavy metal band while in school. Continuing to work on her music, she eventually entered country music with hit songs like “Wishful Drinking” and “The Stranger.” While spending only a decade in the genre, Andress recently watched her name take over headlines due to her botched performance of the national anthem. And although a hard video to watch, it seems the singer’s music saw a 50% spike after her performance went viral. 

For those unaware of the video, Andress took the field to sing the national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby. Like many singers before her, getting the chance to sing the anthem is somewhat of a milestone. But for Andress, it quickly turned into a nightmare when she fumbled through the entire song.

Although receiving a mountain of backlash, SoundCloud released statistics showing that Andress’ music saw a 50% increase since her performance. And for many, they can’t get enough of her song “More Hearts Than Mine.”

Ingrid Andress Breaks Silence Over Botched Performance

While gaining some new listeners, Andress discussed her failed performance on social media, revealing she had too much to drink at the time. Taking a moment to apologize to her fans and the MLB for her unprofessional behavior, the singer announced she needed some time off to check herself into rehab.  “I’m not gonna bulls**t y’all, I was drunk last night. I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is I hear it’s super fun.”

With Andress looking to better herself, it seems that her future in country music isn’t remotely over as people hear the true talent behind her voice.
