With Jelly Roll never shying away when it comes to his faith, the country singer struck an ongoing friendship with Christian singer Brandon Lake. Outside of them sharing a love for God and country music, the two also collaborated on the hit song โHard Fought Hallelujah.โ The pair even got matching tattoos. Already creating a lasting friendship, Lake recently shared some personal news about his grooming techniques which left Jelly Roll completely shocked.
While preparing to take the stage, Lake decided to discuss how he gave his hair that extra glow. With a camera on him, the singer admitted, โI havenโt shampooed my hair in probably 15 years.โ Although most people can go a few days before popping open the shampoo bottle, 15 years is somewhat extreme. But at the same time, Lakeโs hair appeared in perfect condition.

Although able to see how healthy his hair was, Jelly Roll couldnโt wrap his mind around not washing his hair for over a decade. โOh, no way! Youโre telling me, 15 years, only conditioner? That canโt be normal, yโall!โ
With both laughing throughout the conversation, Jelly Roll admitted that fans wouldn’t give him any โamensโ for his unusual hair practice. โI bet we get no amens in the comments.โ
Taking the challenge, Lake turned to the camera, asking fans for just one โamen.โ
Did Fans Side With Jelly Roll Or Brandon Lake?
As the video made its rounds on social media, fans quickly jumped to the comment section, offering their opinions. And for most, they sided with Jelly Roll:
โYea, thatโs gross.โ
โThatโs so disgusting.โ
โSorry Brandon, no Amen Babe.”
While some fans took the side of Jelly Roll, one hairstylist offered a different take. โIโm a licensed hairstylist 22 years. He should shampoo it at least once a week with the right shampoo. No sulfates. No parabens. Clean organic products. His hair would be fine no problem.โ
Other fans also supported Lakeโs decision to go without shampoo. โHis curls are beautiful. Iโve never looked at his hair and thought โyuckโ lol, so whatever works for him!โ
