Sammy Hagar Reveals How Many Songs Ozzy Osbourne Will Perform During Final Black Sabbath Concert

Since announcing one last performance with Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath, fans did everything in their power to get their hands on tickets. With the event quickly selling out, the Villa Park stadium in Aston, Birmingham will welcome countless fans who hope for nothing more than to be part of Osbourneโ€™s last time on stage. Marking the end of a glorious career in the music industry, reports suggested that the iconic singer will only perform a few songs. And with the concert taking place on July 5th, singer Sammy Hagar shared some details surrounding how many songs Osbourne will perform.ย

Titled โ€œBack to the Beginningโ€, the concert brought back the iconic lineup of Black Sabbath. That included Osbourne, Geezer Butler, Bill Ward, and Tony Iommi. Outside of Black Sabbath, other bands like Anthrax, Billy Corgan, Guns Nโ€™ Roses, Korn, Tool, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, and Hagar are expected to perform.ย

Becoming one of the biggest events in recent memory, Hagar didnโ€™t waste time getting to know the voice of Osbourne. He told Loudwire Nights, โ€œEverybody asks, โ€˜What do you listen to?โ€™ Him. Iโ€™m listening to Ozzy until the 5th [July]. I got to learn his phrasing. His melodic structures are so unique, heโ€™s such a unique singer. Iโ€™m so honoured.โ€

Sammy Hagar Pulling Out Some Classic Hits Of His Own

With Hagar picking some of his favorites like โ€œNo More Tearsโ€, he soon learned that song was going to Osbourne, who was only looking to perform about five classics. โ€œI chose to do โ€˜No More Tearsโ€™ and Tom goes, โ€˜Oh, that would be greatโ€™, and then he comes back and says, โ€˜Guess what? Ozzyโ€™s going to try and sing five songs and he wants to sing โ€˜No More Tearsโ€™.โ€ He continued, โ€œI said, โ€˜OK, โ€˜Flying High Againโ€™ [1981], and he goes, โ€˜You got itโ€™. So right now, Iโ€™m singing โ€˜Flying High Againโ€™. If Ozzy changes his mind, Iโ€™ll sing โ€˜Flying High Againโ€™ and โ€˜No More Tearsโ€™.โ€

Not wanting Hagar to only focus on Osbourne, organizers also asked him to perform some of his classic hits. Pondering which song to go with, he insisted, โ€œI thought I would sing [Montroseโ€™s 1973 song] โ€˜Rock Candy.’ Montrose and Sabbath were from the same kind of eraโ€ฆ Iโ€™m so excited.โ€
